Viking Victory Day is almost here! Victory Day is a wonderful event that encourages students with special needs to experience what it is like to play football. Participants take part in drills, score touchdowns, wear a varsity jersey, and experience a "starting line-up tunnel." The smiles and the joy this event creates for participants is impossible to measure! Viking Victory Day is Wednesday, Oct. 2, 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the high school stadium. Chisago County is hosting Operation Community Connect at North Branch Area High School on Thursday, Oct. 17, 10:30 am - 1 pm. This free event is open to all and seeks to connect people with the services they need! See flier for more details.

This year's Perfect 10 event, "Wild and Glitzy Nights!," is right around the corner! This year's event, on Saturday Oct. 5, features dinner, social hour, silent auction, raffles, games, and the return of Deuces Wild dueling pianos! Tickets are available until Sept. 28, and can be purchased at www.nbaef.org. The Perfect 10 event is the North Branch Area Education Foundation's (NBAEF) primary fundraiser of the year. Proceeds are used to suppor kids through an annual grant program. Last year the NBAEF provided over $37,000 in grants to teachers. Since 2010, the NBAEF has raised over a half million dollars in support of NBAPS!

Students in Ms. Quinehan's classroom experimented with four ingredients this week. Each team started with the same amount of the four ingredients and three bowls of water. The phenomenon the students were presented with was "bouncing bubbles." Several teams of students found the right mix of the ingredients and created bouncing bubbles!

NBAMS has declared Thursdays to be Hawaiian Shirt day! Why? Because like Hawaiians, we believe we are all ohana (family) here! And as such we treat each other with respect and kindness.

Join NBAPS, the City of North Branch (including Fire and Police), and Chisago County SHIP for Walk and Roll to School on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 7:05 am. This fall's event will be hosted by St. Gregory's Church and will take Maple to Grand. See you there!

SKOL! and congratulations to North Branch FFA member Abby Hunter on a very successful State FFA Livestock show at the MN State Fair! Abby was awarded: -Overall Grand Champion Market Chicken Pen -Grand Champion Market Chicken -Champion Mini lop Sr Buck -Champion Mini lop Jr Buck (and Reserve!) -Champion Other Small Purebred Sr. Doe Abby was also named the 4th place individual in the General Livestock Judging Contest (out of 77 competitors!) Way to go Abby! *FFA is a year-round youth leadership organization open to any agricultural student and advised by Amanda Cook and Emily Striefel.
