Transportation

NBAPS Transportation Department

North Branch Area Public Schools' transportation is provided by 4.0 School Services.

Our mission is to provide the highest degree of safety for students. New drivers are trained by "Smith System" trainers and are CDL licensed with school bus, air brake, and passenger endorsements. Drivers also attend monthly in-house safety training sessions overseen by Transportation Manager Lonnie Hansen, and are trained in CPR and first aid annually.

Our buses are outfitted with the finest safety equipment available. Each bus has fire-resistant seats, cameras & microphones, as well as air-powered doors, along with sound deadening ceilings.

The majority of buses now have LED lighting for better visibility, and buses that travel high traffic areas, like Hwy. 95, are equipped with high visibility LED strobes on their Eight-Way lighting system that can be seen for long distances. All buses also have high-visibility white strobes mounted on the roof.

Our training and bus maintenance schedule has resulted in one of the safest driving records in the state, which not only gives our community peace of mind, but also saves district taxpayers the burden of additional insurance premiums.

Our drivers service 28 regular routes and eight special education routes daily.

Walk to School Boundaries
In the fall of the 2008-2009 school year, the North Branch Area School District instituted a walk to school zone for students seventh grade and up. If you have any questions about those zones, call the Transportation Department at the number below.

The district, in conjunction with the City of North Branch, has received a Safe Routes to School grant, which allowed for more crossing guards and future sidewalk additions.
