Area Learning Center - North Branch Area Public Schools

Area Learning Center (ALC)
The Area Learning Center, or ALC, offers students who meet state identified criteria an opportunity to learn in an alternative environment. In North Branch, we believe that all students have the potential to learn and are entitled to the best opportunities available in reaching their maximum potential.

Using state and district requirements as a framework, we modify and develop instruction and assessments to meet specific learner needs without compromising the integrity, richness and diversity of the learning.

Programs offered through the ALC include:
School within a school programming for students in grades 7-12
An Independent Study Program for learners age 16 and over

Faculty and staff work continually to assist students who, for a variety of reasons, may struggle in traditional school environments to develop positive attitudes toward learning, to actively participate in learning, and to become responsible, productive members of an ever-changing world.

Distance Learning and Home School coordination are also under the direction of the Alternative Learning Programs. Please use the drop down options under schools/programs for additional information
