Music class is a creative and active learning experience in which all K-5 students participate. The Elementary Music Curriculum centers around an active understanding and use of rhythm, melody, harmony, form, timbre, and creativity. To reach the whole musical learner, while meeting the MN State Standards, students will learn through discovery and play. 

Highlighted activities in the Elementary Music Curriculum:

• Playing pitched/unpitched instruments

• Singing a wide variety of songs from various genres/cultures

• Concepts are reinforced through games and movement

• Recorders are played in fourth grade
