History of Distance Learning
The Distance Learning Program in North Branch began with the receipt of a 3-year-grant from the Minnesota Department of Children, Families and Learning beginning in the 1996-1997 school year. North Branch, Chisago Lakes and Rush City joined together to form the TRIO Project and began serving students and families who were interested in an alternative, off-campus approach to learning.
While the grant expired in June of 1999, North Branch is committed to this valuable alternative approach to learning and will continue to offer this program. District administration and school board members feel Distance Learning offers a sound educational alternative to area students.
Ensure a standards based, student centered virtual program through high quality instruction and resources that foster community partnership to prepare all distance learning students for college and career.
